How it works
Send us a booking enquiry
To get started, send us a booking enquiry via one of the buttons on this page. You’ll need to tell us when you would like your layout finished by and provide some basic information about you and your book.
Complete your booking
We’ll review your booking enquiry and send confirmation that we can complete your layout by your preferred date. We will then send you instructions to complete your booking, including paying the fee.
Complete the pre-design briefing process
We’ll send you an online questionnaire to gather all the information we need about your book and your preferences so that we can complete your layout to the correct specifications. For print format, this is when you’ll choose one of our seven predesigned layouts. You will send us your manuscript as part of this process, and you will also be able to upload any images you would like us to include in the layout. Once you’ve finished the questionnaire, we’ll be in touch to ask any follow up questions we may have.
Final tweaks and transfer of ownership
We will complete your layout and send you the files. You’ll be able to review them and request reasonable tweaks to the text (up to forty) before they are finalised. Once you have signed off on the final files, we’ll transfer ownership over to you.
Our standard service provides your book layout in both eBook and print format, for books of up to 120,000 words. If your book is longer than this or if you want eBook or print only format – or if you want any extras – get in touch and we’ll quote you a bespoke price depending on your needs.

How long does the book formatting process take?
Usually two or three weeks. We will give you a time slot before you book so that you know when to expect your finished layout.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least two months in advance if you can. This will help guarantee you get your finished layout when you need it. If you need formatting done at short notice, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
What subgenres of historical fiction do you accommodate?
We accommodate almost every subgenre of historical fiction. We usually don’t work with authors of erotica.
Do you have any limitations on the length of books you will format?
Our standard package accommodates books of up to 120,000 words. If your book is longer than this, get in touch and we will quote you a bespoke price.
Will I own my layout once it is finished?
Yes. Once you have signed off on your final layout, we transfer ownership to you.
How do I send you my manuscript?
We’ll ask you to send us your manuscript during the pre-design briefing process. You’ll need to send it in Microsoft Word format and note important features like image insertion points and section breaks.
What are the differences between eBook and print format?
eBooks are electronic files that allow readers to set their own font size and font type, whereas print format allows the author/formatter to make those decisions. It’s very important to set up both eBook and print formats correctly to ensure a positive experience for your readers.
What file types will you provide?
For print format, we will provide a print-ready PDF file, guaranteed to match the specifications of your chosen printer. For eBooks, we will provide both epub and Kindle files to ensure you meet the specifications of all major online retailers.
What if I want something extra, or if I want eBook or print only?
No problem. Send us a booking enquiry with your requirements and we’ll be in touch with a bespoke quote.
Do you accept international clients?
Yes! We welcome clients who are resident in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and any EU country. If you are not resident in one of these countries, unfortunately we won’t be able to accept your business at this time.
