Rachel oversees the running and development of The History Quill’s systems and services. She has a degree in English Literature, has undertaken editorial training with the Publishing Training Centre, and previously served as The History Quill’s executive editor.

Rachel lives on the Essex coast with her husband and son. She is fascinated by social history, particularly of the 19th and 20th centuries. Her favourite novels are often multi-generational family sagas, weave together multiple timelines, or feature a gothic edge and a hint of mystery.

If she were stranded on a desert island, the two historical novels Rachel would want with her are The Light Years, the first novel in the Cazalet Chronicles by Elizabeth Jane Howard, and The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher.
