MEET THE TEAM
Jennifer Kay Davies

Jennifer is a copyeditor and proofreader currently based in Southampton, UK. She studied English at Winchester University, and she trained as an editor with the Publishing Training Centre and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. She works with publishers as well as self-publishing authors.
In her free time, when she’s not editing or proofreading books, she’s usually reading them, and one of her favourite genres is historical fiction. She’s fascinated by history in general, but some of her favourite periods of time to read about include the Tudor era, the Victorian era, and even as far back as the Silk Road and Ancient Egypt. She also enjoys watching historical dramas, and her two favourites are Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey.
If Jennifer were stranded on a desert island, the historical novels she would want with her are The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, which she’s read at least ten times over, and The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly, the first in a trilogy set across Northern Ireland, London, Kenya and New York between 1888 and 1914.
“A keen attention to detail, and supreme professionalism, are some of the words that best describe my copy-edit with Jennifer. As an independent author, I need to have someone I trust to place the time and effort into a manuscript. Jennifer does this and more. Her attention to detail ensured the text was clear and consistent, and the style guide she provided made it easy to maintain that consistency. For my second manuscript, I have been fortunate enough to work with Jennifer again. Every time my novel is in Jennifer’s talented care it gives me an extra boost in confidence to know my novel is the best it can be for publication.”
