Sharon Rutland

Copy-editor and proofreader

Sharon is a freelance editor and proofreader based in the Midlands, working with publishers and self-publishing authors. At university, she studied English literature and history, which led her into teaching. However, after completing training with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, she began working as an editor, a career she loves.

In her spare time, Sharon enjoys playing tennis, acting and directing with an amateur theatre company, and writing her own books and plays. She is currently writing an adult historical fiction novel set in Elizabethan England and is working on her next play. She is a published playwright.

Sharon loves reading historical fiction novels. If she were stranded on a desert island, the books she would take with her are The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, a truly amazing book, and The Foundling by Stacey Halls, Georgian historical fiction with a touch of mystery.
