MEET THE TEAM

Andrew Noakes

A graduate of Cambridge University, Andrew’s passion for history and historical fiction inspired him to establish The History Quill, having worked as a freelance editor before that. He spends most of his time running the business and developing new services for our clients, as well as managing our book club, but he can occasionally be found working quietly on his historical fiction WIP – or at least thinking about it!

In a past life, Andrew worked in politics and international relations and lived in various countries, including the United States, Belgium, and Cameroon. He now lives in Surrey with his wife, Audrey, and energetic Golden Retriever, Lydia, who enjoys taking him on walks.

If Andrew were stranded on a desert island, the two historical novels he would want with him are Dissolution by CJ Sansom (a masterclass in historical mystery, Andrew’s favourite genre) and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (a powerful and moving story that perfectly captures the turmoil of the French Revolution).
